The Community Living Program helps older adults remain safe, supported, and independent at home. These services are funded by state and federal dollars and are available to eligible residents in Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, and Washtenaw counties. There is no cost to participate. All services are fully covered, and while voluntary contributions are welcome, they are never required and do not affect your ability to receive care. We work with you—and anyone involved in your care—to understand your needs and develop a plan that fits your situation.
Assistance with daily tasks you may no longer be able to do on your own, such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, errands, transportation, and medication reminders. You must be 60 or older and in need of support to remain living in the community.
Short-term relief for family caregivers. The older adult can receive care in the home or at an adult day center, giving their caregiver time to rest or manage other responsibilities. The person receiving care must be 60 or older, need help with daily activities, and have a loved one providing unpaid care.
A wearable pendant with a help button that connects you to a call center in case of an emergency. You must be 60 or older and at risk for falls.
No matter which services you receive, we’ll help you explore additional community programs or supports that could benefit you.
