Home Buyer Program
Macomb Habitat builds homes and sells them to qualified first-time homebuyers through a 25-year mortgage. Families receive homebuyer education. Applicants contribute a small down payment, monthly mortgage payments, and 250 hours of time by helping build their own home and supporting other Habitat projects.

Program Requirements
Willingness to Partner: U.S. legal residency, 250 volunteer hours, attendance at homeowner and financial literacy classes.
Ability to Pay: Minimum income of $33,350 (for a single person, higher for larger households), credit score of 630+, debt-to-income ratio under 40%, and no bankruptcy, foreclosure, delinquent student loans/child support, or open liens/judgments.
Need for Housing: Demonstrated housing need (evaluated by Habitat).
