The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is hosting a free public webinar to gather feedback on a proposed update to the Medicaid MI Choice Waiver program—the addition of a new service called Structured Family Caregiving (SFC).
Structured Family Caregiving is a model that supports and pays family caregivers who provide daily care to a loved one. In addition to compensation, caregivers receive comprehensive training and support. This service was included in Michigan’s Fiscal Year 2025 budget, and MDHHS is exploring how it could be implemented through the MI Choice Waiver.
What to Expect in the Webinar:
✔️ Overview of the Structured Family Caregiving (SFC) model
✔️ Examples of how SFC works in other states
✔️ Next steps for adding SFC to the MI Choice Waiver
✔️ Opportunity to ask questions and share feedback
This is a valuable opportunity for family caregivers, MI Choice participants, and stakeholders to learn more and make their voices heard.
