Medicare can feel overwhelming, especially when plans, costs, and rules change every year. You don’t have to figure it out alone. The AgeWays MI Options Medicare Assistance Program provides unbiased help with Medicare — at no charge.  Our certified SHIP (Michigan's State Health Insurance Assistance Program) counselors and trained volunteers provide free, unbiased one-on-one support to help you understand your benefits, compare options, and make decisions that protect both your health and your wallet.

How We Can Help

One-on-One Counseling

• Review Medicare health plans, Part D prescription coverage, and supplemental (“Medigap”) insurance
• Explain eligibility, enrollment, claims, and appeals
• Identify resources for prescription drug assistance and savings programs
• Report Medicare fraud, abuse, or scams

Open Enrollment Assistance

• Annual October 15 – December 7. Appointments available in-person, by phone, or via Zoom.
• Free Assistance Days held across our six-county region. See Full List of Open Enrollment Events here. 
• Even small changes in medications or health needs can affect your plan costs
• Last year, our SHIP counselors helped beneficiaries save over $3 million
