The Center for Active Adults is located in the south west wing of South Lyon High School. It has its own entrance, door #32. Follow the signs to its designated parking.
Center for Active Adults is a community hub for ages 50+ promoting healthy aging through enrichment, education, and recreation. Offerings include fitness and wellness (senior swim, pickleball, walking club, yoga, exercise, health screenings), arts and hobbies (art classes, woodcarving/burning, knitting/crochet, rubber-stamp cards), games and social groups (bridge, euchre, mah-jongg, bingo, book club), technology and seminars (computer classes, financial workshops, AARP tax prep), and onsite supports like information/referrals, a small shop (“The Closet”), and a lending library.
Membership Information
Membership to The Center for Active Adults is free for residents of the City of South Lyon, Lyon Charter Township & Green Oak Charter Township that are at least 50 years old. For those living outside of that area, the membership fee is $37/year. All members must fill out a membership form. For more info call (248) 573-8175.
Tax Preparation: Income tax assistance available during tax season by appointment only. Must be age 50 or older.
Assistive Equipment Loan: Equipment loan closet has wheelchairs, walkers, crutches and other durable medical equipment available for loan. Will also accept donations of used medical equipment.
