About the Caregiver Expo
This will be the 17th year the Area Agency
on Aging 1-B (AAA 1-B) has been presenting the Solutions for Family Caregivers Expo. It has a long-standing record of providing a variety of resources and helpful information to caregivers. We know caregivers are usually very busy people, so here’s a preview so you know what to expect and how to plan for the day.
What to expect
Caregivers come from Macomb, Oakland, St. Clair, Livingston, Monroe and Washtenaw counties looking for information, support and resources to help them with their care of loved ones. You have the opportunity to attend presentations from industry experts on topics like caregiver stress, to communicating with healthcare providers. You can tour the exhibit hall and check out over 90 exhibitors with information on services and resources which may interest you. You can find out about in-home care, wheelchair getaways, senior adult daycare services, legal and medical support services, and more. Our popular Ask the Expert area will be back and ready to answer questions and help connect you to services you need. Plus, first come, first serve chair massages will be available. You don’t have to pre-register but we suggest you arrive on time and wear comfortable shoes as you have the opportunity to walk the exhibitor hall and will want to visit the different presentation rooms. Parking is always free.
Unfortunately, no respite care will be available at this year’s Caregiver Expo, but it should return next year.
